When is the due date for rent payment?

Log in to the student portal of the apartment, and check your payment plan on the booking interface. In addition, there will be a mark on the apartment provision contract. After the reservation is successful, the apartment will send a contract to the student's mailbox. Please keep it well.

How much is the deposit?

Students in the 21/22 academic year do not need to pay a housing deposit of 350 pounds, but only need to pay the deposit and rent.

A guarantor is someone over the age of 18 who can share the financial responsibility of renting an apartment with you and who can pay the rent for you if you are unable to pay the rent to the apartment for whatever reason. A guarantor is required if you choose to pay the rent in two or four installments when booking. He should agree to be your guarantor and sign the rental documents. The apartment party has the right to recover the unpaid rent from the guarantor. So make sure your sponsor understands his obligations.

Who can be a guarantor?

Anyone over the age of 18 who lives in the UK and does not live in Weta Academy can act as a guarantor for students who choose to pay rent in four installments. Anyone over the age of 18 who lives in any part of the world and does not live in Weta Academy can act as a guarantor for students who choose to pay rent in two installments.

Can I move into the room early?

It depends on the usage of the room you reserved. You can send an English email to contact the apartment management team CustomerEngagement@vitastudent.com

Can couples live here?

Couples are welcome to stay in the apartment, but the price will be slightly different. Currently, double occupancy requires an additional 20% of the rent.

Do I need to pay land tax?

If you are an eligible full-time student, you will be exempt from paying land tax. You must provide proof to the apartment that you are a full-time student

What do I need to pay?

All utilities, 250M broadband and wireless internet, all personal contents insurance are included in the rent, and breakfast is included in the weekly rent from Monday to Friday.

You can check in at the beginning of the contract. If you arrive at the apartment during non-working hours, it is best to inform the apartment in advance so that the apartment can arrange check-in.

What should I do if something is broken or malfunctioning in my room?

Using the mobile phone software provided by the apartment allows you to report for repairs while staying comfortably in the room! Fill out the repair form, you can also add a picture, and the equipment manager in the apartment will respond as soon as possible. You can also go downstairs yourself and talk to the customer service team at the front desk about the problem, they are more than happy to help.

How do I collect my access card?

After completing the check-in process at the front desk, you can get the key card from the apartment front desk

Can I smoke in the room?

cannot. According to the signed rental agreement, smoking is strictly prohibited in the apartment. Each apartment has a dedicated smoking area, please smoke there.

Can someone else get the key card for me?

No, for security reasons, your key card can only be collected by yourself.

Where can I do my laundry?

All residence halls have laundry rooms in the apartment building with washing machines and dryers. Each wash costs about £2.70; each drying costs about £1.20. You can use the apartment's mobile app to see if your laundry is ready, and to see when the machine is ready for use! The laundry room is also open 24 hours a day.

Can I keep pets inside the apartment?

No, no pets are allowed in the apartment.

If there is a network problem, who should I contact?

You can contact the staff in the apartment, fill in the repair form, or contact the apartment's network service operator Ask4. Ask4's technical support phone number is (UK) 0114 303 3232. They have specially trained staff that can resolve network issues quickly.

What should I do if I need to report for repair?

1. Reporting repairs by using the apartment software 2. Reporting repairs through the front desk of the apartment

Can I drive to the apartment?

All houses in the apartment are located in the city center, very close to the university, and it is very convenient to take public transportation. At the same time, apartment developers are building apartment buildings with the car's environmental impact in mind. Therefore, in view of the location and traffic advantages of the apartment, there is no parking lot in any apartment. Moreover, in some residential areas of the apartment (such as Exeter), it is strictly forbidden to park vehicles within 1.5 kilometers of the dormitory area.

Can I smoke inside the room?

The apartment is non-smoking for safety reasons and has smoke alarms. If you need to smoke, please ask the front desk of the apartment where the corresponding smoking area is located.

“No Visa, No Pay” If you are declined a Visa to study in the UK, by UK Visas and Immigration, you may cancel and obtain a full refund if notice is provided to us before 16th August 2023, unless: (1)You did not complete all necessary steps required by UKVI to complete your visa application (2)Your university was unable to issue you with a CAS Number to obtain your visa owing to you not completing all necessary steps to complete your application to study. Under NVNP additional cancellation policies: (1)You must supply suitable proof to us in writing within 48 hours of being made aware of the change in circumstances and we may request additional information to support your cancellation request to satisfy ourselves of the circumstances of your request. (2)If at any point you have checked in to your Accommodation, you are unable to cancel your Agreement free of charge and must find a replacement student. Should you need to make a request to cancel your accommodation under any of the above policies, you should send your request in writing (with supporting evidence attached) to Customer Engagement Team. If your cancellation request is accepted for one of the above reasons, any Advance Licence Fee Payment will be fully refunded to the account from which it was paid.

“No Place, No Pay” If you are declined a place to study at a university located in the same city as your accommodation, you may cancel and obtain a full refund, unless: (1)You are declined a place for any reason other than not meeting the academic requirements to obtain a place (including, but not limited to, academic or other misconduct, financial reasons, or withdrawing from your application or course) (2)You did not complete all necessary steps required by your university to complete your application in time (3)The Occupation Period outlined in your Licence Agreement has begun. If you are initially declined a place to study at university, or progress into the next academic year, you must immediately notify us if you intend to appeal the decision. We will confirm to you whether you will continue to benefit from this additional policy during and subsequent to your appeal being made. Under NPNP additional cancellation policies: (1)You must supply suitable proof to us in writing within 48 hours of being made aware of the change in circumstances and we may request additional information to support your cancellation request to satisfy ourselves of the circumstances of your request. (2)If at any point you have checked in to your Accommodation, you are unable to cancel your Agreement free of charge and must find a replacement student. 23/24 Academic Year Cancellation Policy
If you are within your cooling off period:
You can cancel free of charge if you are within your cooling off period;

“No Place, No Pay”

What is the Advance License Fee Payment I paid when I booked?

How to pay rent?

The apartment supports logging in to the account, using the TransferMate platform that cooperates with the apartment to pay, or paying by bank wire transfer. 1. To use the TransferMate platform to pay, please log in to your apartment personal account, then select Pay Now on the Booking interface to jump to the TransferMate platform payment interface, then please fill in the relevant information and complete the payment. Please note that the payment mode is that you pay to the TransferMate platform, and then pay to VITA STUDENT after the TransferMate platform receives the student's payment. Therefore, it is estimated that the arrival time after payment is about 3-5 working days. In case of statutory holidays in China and the UK, it will be postponed. 2. Wire transfer payment Vita official currently accepts bank transfers, Chinese wire transfers or transfers from UK bank accounts. The transfer and remittance in the UK generally takes about 1 week to check the update, and the arrival cycle of China's wire transfer generally takes 1-2 weeks. Please note that currently VITA does not have a Chinese bank account, only a British company account. Please use VITA's official account for remittance operations, and operate in strict accordance with VITA's information, and do not trust any information provided by any third party.
